On beta9, when trying to create new samba shares, the share name on the form is limited to 8 characters.

I'm not sure what the maximum that samba can handle, but is obviously more than this.

I have increased mine but maybe something to fix in the next release.

If anyone needs to change theirs, look in /usr/local/www/zfsguru/pages/access/

<td><input type="text" name="newshare_sharename" value="%%NEWSHARE_NAME%%"
id="newshare_sharename" pattern="[a-zA-Z0-9]{1,8}" maxlength="8"
required="required" />

and change the 2 occurances of 8 to whatever you would like to set.

I thought it was 8 characters, but it is 12 characters. More than 12 and the Samba share will not be visible by older Windows versions.

I think it is best to remain compatible. You can rename your share once mounted to a longer name; but the share name does have constraints.
