Hello Team ZFSGuru;
I just discovered and learned recently about Docker and started to use it on Linux. Not too adventurous, just using already packaged apps, but found the idea quite interesting and convenient.
Then I searched a bit more and found also Docker counterarguments like this one: http://www.boycottdocker.org/
I also checked what virtualization methods are available on ZFSguru (found Virtualbox), and Freebsd docker alternatives. Some are mentioned in the article above, others are not, like this one http://www.bsdstore.ru/en/about.html. Found out that jails are already present in FreeBSD, FreeNAS, PCBSD.
So my question is whether do you plan the introduction of jail/container mechanism in ZFSguru in the close future? or will you just stick for now with virtual box.
More general, do you have plans to publish a development roadmap for ZFSguru?
Thank you,
hg

CBSD is a nice utility. But all the eyes are bhyve - the native typer-2 hypervisor for BSD that in time will compete with KVM on Linux. Most people i know use ESXi and virtualise ZFSguru as on of their VMs. I dislike this. I would like ZFSguru to become the host system and let bhyve virtualise other systems, such as Linux or Windows or other BSD/ZFSguru VMs. But do not expect this feature any time soon. Bhyve is also in heavy development. | |||

I have made some nice designs for a VM frontend solution based on bhyve. But these are plans for the future. I would like to finish ZFSguru first. |
