Updated to 10.1.002 now transmission is does not download because of a port closed in the settings menu it did work with the previous version! any pointers to troubleshoot

You mean you do not have a proper port forward? It is possible the port number has changed and you need to configure your modem/router to forward that port to the proper IP address of the machine running Transmission. This should result in higher download speeds.

See the documentation of your modem/router on how to do that.

even though it report as port closed in the settings - network it is still downloading thanks anyways
