Updated Guide (06 feb 2012)

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/36835219/Howto_SpotWeb_on_ZFSguru.pdf

Spotnet is a dutch program/usenetcommunity to search and download files from usenet. SpotWeb is a web-based version of Spotnet, which alows you to search for content on usenet. It's developed and mostly used by dutch people.

Recently Spotweb has been translated to the Englisch language.

Thank you for mentioning newznab. Never heard of it. Will try it and maybe at it to the guide.

EDIT
Hmm, that's an usenet-indexer. I'm already using nzb.su for sickbeard and couchpotato and nzb.su seems to be a newznab provider.
Is this easy to use for personal use?

What is the difference between newznab and SpotWeb?
I use nzb.su myself and i find it great. Maybe we instead could translate SpotWeb to english? It shouldn't be more then to edit some text files, you think?

As far as I know, newsnab is just an indexer that creates a database of all the content on usenet. There's no user interaction. Correct me if I'm wrong.
When people post stuff and use strange names, you won't be able to find it.

Spot-Net/Web is a community driven application. Users spot/post their content on usenet and on spotweb.

Headphones is the app for music: https://github.com/rembo10/headphones
It's in an early development stage. It's very easy to install. I just need a start/shutdown script.

I have that, but it still searches nab.su and nzbmatrix for NZB's with music (lossless in my case) and that won't help since so much of the lossless music on usenet is posted with strange names etc...

no, i start my stuff by manually executing a script.
I really wish it was an easy way to execute stuff during startup.
