Hi,

I have ZFSguru version 0.3.0, running official system image 10.2.002 but service X Server won't start:

Error: could not start service dep-X!

On the Service Information I find at the bottom:

Conflicts with X-server-KMS

I may have installed that service if it was available prior to 0.3.0 but not this installation, and I don't see that service listed on the processor usage tab on the status page.

Have you installed a graphical desktop (Gnome) as explained on the service installation page?

Have you rebooted the system after installing Gnome?

Just tried ZFSguru version 0.3.1 running official system image 10.2.003 with the same result.

Yes I installed Gnome and all the dependencies it requires before it can be installed. And did a reboot using the shutdown tab on the system page.

On the page where you can manage the installed services, X server is stopped, can't get started.

Can you tell me your hardware in detail? Motherboard, chipset and CPU. Do you have a separate graphics adapter or are you using the IGP (integrated graphics) of your processor?

Your hardware should be supported. Ivy Bridge hardware should work with KMS-enabled drivers - modern video drivers with OpenGL hardware acceleration and all that.

I will need to investigate myself. That may take a couple of hours though, before i have time to work on this. I will let you know. :)

Just curious, did you try any other system image with Gnome? Have you tried this in the past with ZFSguru 0.2 and older system images? Did it work in the past for you?

When I first put the hardware together I used ubuntu and it worked.

And I accessed a Windows 7 VM remotely hosted on this machine (ZFSguru as a Virtualbox Host), but a really lagging mousecursor made that unusable.

Using Gnome itself I can't actually recall.

And thank you already :-)
