You are using a PCI controller? This will slow down RAID-Z performance considerably, I strongly suggest using only PCI-express controllers. Preferably recommended controllers like Intel SASUC8i and the likes. Also, your chipset SATA should provide the best bandwidth and latencies.

Now testing RAIDZ configuration with 3 disks: cWmRd@cWmRd@cWmRd@
READ: 220 MiB/sec 222 MiB/sec 223 MiB/sec = 222 MiB/sec avg
WRITE: 187 MiB/sec 189 MiB/sec 190 MiB/sec = 189 MiB/sec avg
That's a lot better! Looks like great performance to me.
