Finally, here it is. The "welcome back" release.

Changes in this version
  • New Disks->Advanced page with spindown/up functionality and detailed information about each drive.
  • New Services->Internal page with ability to start/stop internal services, as well as mini-panels for Samba and OpenSSH, restoring the functionality of 0.1.7 in this regard. Also fixes some Samba configuration file bugs in the process.
  • Fixes a bug where 'Unknown' system versions would not show up when trying to perform an install on the System->Install page.

You can also upgrade your existing system:

Updating your system
Reinstall using the System->Install page and follow instructions. You can reinstall on a running Root-on-ZFS installation to the same pool, as long as the new version has a different name than your current running system.

Updating your web-interface
Updating the web-interface is easy; just visit the System->Update page and hit the update button. You can choose between stable (0.1.7) and experimental (0.1.8-preview4) branch. Note that updating from the experimental branch requires a version of at least 0.1.8-preview1 or 2; so this would not work for 0.1.7 unfortunately. Manual instructions in that case are as follows:

First execute this command in root command line on the System page:
fetch -o /tmp/guru018.tgz http://static.zfsguru.com/files/ZFSguru-0.1.8-preview4-webinterface.tgz

Once the previous command is done, execute the second command - again as root!
tar xvfz /tmp/guru018.tgz -C /usr/local/www/zfsguru/
