Server Maintenance
This website will be going offline for server maintenance soon!
So don't freak out if next day the website is unreachable. :-) - Jason

All releases have the following limitations or issues:
  • Missing feature: Hot spares. Coming in ZFSguru 0.2.
  • Missing feature: Email notifications upon degraded/failed pool.
  • The Create Snapshot functionality on the Files page does work, but does not provide feedback of this happening.
  • Other smaller issues.

The livecd release has the following issues, in addition to the limitations above:
  • Uses 'tmpfs' which is considered experimental.
  • Memory usage of 600MiB for the system alone; at least 1.2GiB+ RAM is recommended.

The embedded release has the following issues, in addition to the limitations on top:
  • Does not save some settings such as new users and other configuration upon reboots.
  • Currently non-functional. Embedded installation will be working again in some future release.

Should I use ZFSguru?
While this project has matured over the past year, it still lacks some core features that make up a NAS. For those missing features, you will need to 'fallback' to the shell and use text commands to achieve your goal. If you can live with that, ZFSguru is a viable solution for you. ZFSguru is also improving every month, adding new features and removing many limitations. At one point all basic features and some nice advanced ones will be complete and this project will be ready for a wider audience.
